State Prosecutor Ervehe Gashi delivers a Lecture to D4J Live Legal Clinic Students

On April 4, 2017 was held the seventh lecture of the University of Prizren Live Legal Clinic. This week’s guest lecturer was Ms. Ervehe Gashi, State Prosecutor from the Basic Prosecution of Prizren. The elaborated topics in this interactive and prosperous lecture were: the competencies of the Prosecutor, the investigation phase, the role of the Prosecutor at this stage, as well as the collection and examination of evidences. The students had an excellent opportunity to see firsthand the work of the State Prosecutor in combating criminality as a social phenomenon. Moreover, Ms. Gashi is willing to further support the students within the Live Legal Clinic by inviting them to observe court hearings in the Basic Court in Prizren, in the sessions where she has the Prosecutor’s role as a party.

The University of Prizren Live Criminal Law Clinic is supported by the D4J Program and it offers students of the Faculty of Law the opportunity to assist KBA advocates in their pro bono representation of poor criminal defendants. The Clinic serves 12 students, each of whom will have the opportunity to apply their academic knowledge in practice by working on live legal cases under the mentorship of a KBA advocate during their fourth year of law school or Master’s program.
