Clinic Students Visit the Basic Prosecution in Prizren

Prizren, April 26, 2017 – On April 26, Clinic students visited the Basic Prosecution in Peja and met Chief Prosecutor Agim Kurmehaj. Together they discussed the role of the Chief Prosecutor and other prosecutors from respective departments. Kurmehaj informed the Clinic students about the number of cases they were handling and the efforts they are making to reduce the number of unsolved cases. He was open to student questions and an interactive discussion on issues ensued. This was a special opportunity for Clinic students to receive expert insight into how the Basic Prosecution in Peja functions.

The University of Peja Live Criminal Law Clinic is supported by the D4J Program and offers students of the Faculty of Law the opportunity to advocates of the Kosovo Bar Association (KBA) in their pro bono representation criminal defendants who cannot afford an advocate. The Clinic serves 16 students who are offered the opportunity to apply their academic knowledge in practice by working on live legal cases under the mentorship of a KBA advocate during the final year of undergraduate studies or graduate studies in law.
