EULEX prosecutor lectures D4J Clinics students in Prizren, Mitrovica and Prishtina

November 29, 2017 – The cooperation between the Demand for Justice (D4J) Program and the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) entered its second year.

During the last week of November, EULEX prosecutor Drew Engel delivered the “Preparing for Introductory Speech” lecture to D4J Live Legal Clinic students at the University of Prizren, University of Mitrovica and University of Prishtina.

This provided the D4J Clinic students the unique opportunity to learn from Engel’s international experience and discuss the challenges of the legal profession.

These events marked the beginning of Engel’s Clinic lectures for the 2017/18 academic year.

The D4J Live Legal Clinic in the University of Peja is looking forward to the upcoming EULEX lecture scheduled for 5 December 2017. D4J appreciates the cooperation with EULEX in its quest to establish affordable, KBA-led, pro bono- driven clinical education for all interested Kosovo law faculties.

The Live Criminal Law Clinic is supported by the D4J Program. It offers students of the Faculties of Law the opportunity to assist KBA advocates in their pro bono representation of poor criminal defendants. The Clinic serves law students, each of whom will have the opportunity to apply their academic knowledge in practice by working on live legal cases under the mentorship of a KBA advocate during their fourth year of law school or Master’s program.

Demand for Justice Program aims to empower citizen demand for justice in Kosovo. This program is supported by NCSC.
