Lawyer Kushtrim Palushi Lectures in D4J Live Legal Clinic

March 24, 2017, Prizren. The fourth lecture of the University of Prizren Live Legal Clinic was held, with the guest speaker Mr. Kushtrim Palushi, a pro-bono KBA advocate engaged with the Clinic. The topics that were discussed in this week’s lecture were: the relationship between the lawyer and the client, the establishment of a defensive strategy and direct meetings with the client or the client’s family, which the lawyer conducts. Besides the theoretical part, Mr. Palushi engaged the students to work on a simulation of a lawyer-client conversation, while the latter is in detention.

The University of Prizren Live Criminal Law Clinic is supported by the D4J Program and it offers students of the Faculty of Law the opportunity to assist KBA advocates in their pro bono representation of poor criminal defendants. The Clinic serves 12 students, each of whom will have the opportunity to apply their academic knowledge in practice by working on live legal cases under the mentorship of a KBA advocate during their fourth year of law school or Master’s program.
