December 22, 2016, the “Demand for Justice (D4J)” Legal Clinic held its weekly lecture delivered by guest lecturer, Donikë Dobruna, a pro-bono KBA advocate engaged with the Clinic. Ms. Dobruna’s lecture entitled “Measures to ensure the presence of the defendant - Pretrial detention” included both a theoretical portion, and a roll-playing opportunity for students to work with live fact patterns as they practiced advocacy skills during the pretrial detention phase as well as client communications during police custody.
The D4J Live Criminal Law Clinic offers students of the Faculty of Law the opportunity to assist KBA advocates in their pro bono representation of poor criminal defendants. The Clinic serves 14 students, each of whom will have the opportunity to apply their academic knowledge in practice by working on live legal cases under the mentorship of a KBA advocate during their fourth year of law school or Master’s program.
Demand for Justice Program aims to empower citizen demand for justice in Kosovo. This program is implemented by NCSC and supported by the US Department of State/INL.
